Four Legs on the Beat: Paws on Patrol

Four Legs on the Beat: Paws on Patrol

Paws on Patrol is returning to Gloucester Park in May for a fifth time this year and two lucky young people will taking part in a police dog handler display.

A competition was held for young people to design their own version of what their own hero dog would look like, with the winners getting chance to take part in the displays.

The competition closed last week, and judges will now decide this week on the overall winners.

On Saturday 7th May at midday, the park will be full of activity with displays from Gloucestershire Constabulary’s dog team, LG Agility Group, Ali Magic’s Heelwork to Music and The Quack Pack – farmer Meirion Owen with his amazing Border Collie herding Indian Runner ducks around the arena.

There will also be a novelty dog show, which everyone is welcome to take part in and is free to enter.

Steve Wood, local policing area Inspector, says: “Paws on Patrol is one of our biggest events of the year in terms of being able to engage with the people of Gloucester. This year we are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for two young residents to get the VIP treatment to meet Paws on Patrol mascots Ace and Holly and their colleagues, and help our dog handlers with parts of the police dog displays. We’re looking forward to seeing the “Hero Dog” submissions to our competition and meeting the winners”
