Hate Crime Awareness Week


Hate Crime Awareness Week National Hate Crime Awareness Week commencies 12th October 2015.

Across Gloucestershire, key strategic partners working with the 3rd Party Hate Crime Reporting Project are holding a series of "Hate Crime Consultation" events to raise awareness of the project but also to gain an understanding of the issues affecting various communities.

Members of these communities affected by Hate Crime are invited to engage with Gloucestershire County Council, Police and Suport Groups to help form a new county wide Hate Crime Strategy by sharing pressing issues affecting their communities and discussing solutions in relation to addressing hate crime/incidents in Gloucestershire. 

The following events have been planned:

Monday 12th October 11.00-12.30pm

"Tackling Homophobic Hate Crime"

Tuesday 13th October 7.30pm
"What is it really like to be Transgender?"

Wednesday 14th October 10.00-11.30am 
ACA, 213 Barton Street, Gloucester
"Tackling Racist Hate Crime"

Friday 16th October 2.00pm
Council Chamber, Municipal Offices, Promenade, Cheltenham, GL50 9SA
"Tackling Hate Crime Seminar"

Saturday 17th October 11.00am-12.30pm
Friendship Cafe, Gloucester
"Tackling Religious Hate Crime"

Gloucester Best Bar None 2016

Best Bar None came back to Gloucester for the second year. Following the success of 2015, the awards ceremony in January 2017, saw 18 premises become accredited to the National Best Bar None standard.
