Barton and Tredworth Cultural Fayre 2016


Barton and Tredworth Cultural Fayre will take place on Saturday 20th August from 12 noon - 5pm at St James' Park, Albany Street, Gloucester.

Samples of cultural cuisine and traditional entertainment will be shared together in a celebration of the many different communities living in Barton and Tredworth.

There will be food stands from:

  • England
  • Poland
  • Africa
  • The Caribbean
  • Slovakia
  • Bangladesh
  • China
  • India

The event will be opened by the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Gloucester Cllr Neil Hampson and will be attended also by the Sheriff of Gloucester Cllr Said Hansdot and the Mock Mayor of Barton , Gordon Barrington.

The entertainment will commence with African Drumming and also include Morris Dancing, a Tai Chi Demonstration, Eukele Band, gospel Choir and Czech Dancing - it promises to be a great afternoon.

In addition to the cultural stands, there will the Mounted Police, pny rides, an African drumming and graffiti workshop, stands from Safer Gloucester, Gloucester City Homes, Project Solace, Victim Support, St James' Church, Kidney Research, Barnwood Trust, Turning Point, Telecare, a Ladies Craft Group and a headdress making stand to form a competition to be judged at 4pm as well as face painting, henna tattoos, bouncy castles, the climbing wall and a fire engine.

The event is being sponsored by the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commisioner, Barnwood Trust, Gloucester City Homes and Saninsbury.
