Barton and Tredworth Cultural Fayre 2015


Barton and Tredworth Cultural Fayre 2015 Barton and Tredworth Cultural Fayre will take place on Saturday 22nd August from 11am – 4pm at St James’ Park, Albany Street, Gloucester.

Samples of cultural cuisine and traditional entertainment will be shared together in a celebration of the many different communities living in Barton and Tredworth.

There will be food stands from:

•    England
•    Sri Lanka
•    Poland
•    Africa
•    The Caribbean
•    Bangladesh
•    China
•    India
•    Pakistan
•    Slovakia

The entertainment will be a Chinese Lion Dance, Tai Chi Demonstration, Clog Dancing, Gospel Choir, Bollywood Dancing and Singing and Czech Dancing – it should be a great afternoon.

It will be a fantastic opportunity to meet local people in Barton and Tredworth from other cultures and get to know them and more about their heritage. It will be a truly carnival atmosphere with lots of fun for everyone in the Ward.

In addition to the cultural stands, there will be pony rides, a graffiti artist, African Drumming, stands from the Police, Safer Gloucester, Gloucester City Homes, Project Solace, Victim Support, St James’ Church, Tredworth Estates Tenants and Residents Association, Fishing Club, Severn Wye Energy, Kidney Research, as well as Face painting, Henna Tattoos, Bouncy Castles, the Climbing Wall and a Fire Engine.

Safer Gloucester is promoting the production of a directory outlining the services that are available to help and support victims of domestic abuse.
