'Have Your Say' day Abbey
16/Feb/2011
The Safer Gloucester Partnership will be holding the next 'Have Your Say' day in Kingscote Drive, Longborough Drive and their surrounding cul-de-sacs in the Abbey ward. The team will be visiting as many residents as they can to find out their views and experiences of crime and anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhood.
The Safer Gloucester team, made up of Officers from the Police, City Council (including Abbey ward Councillors), Project Solace, Neighbourhood Watch and Gloucester City Homes, will be knocking on doors from 6pm-8pm on the 16th and the 17th February. Safer Gloucester will also be giving out crime prevention tools, such as shed alarms and SmartWater kits to help residents protect their property.
These events have been successful in the past in finding out what issues are the priorities of residents and how the agencies can improve life in the area. Safer Gloucester is keen to create as many 'SmartWater' zones across Gloucester as possible, as SmartWater is a valuable property marker that can deter burglars from breaking in. Crime prevention tools such as SmartWater can be purchased at from Bearlands Police Station in Gloucester City Centre.
